The OWC Aura Pro X2 is a compatible SSD, however your Mac Mini must be on macOS High Sierra or above and the SSD formatted as APFS. I tear open my Mac Mini and remove the slow and weak 5400rmp mechanical drive and replace it with a nice new SSD, which turns out to be a complete tear-down. The M.2 is a proprietary drive, which means you cannot use a standard NVME drive like the Samsung 970 EVO. Now very happy with a fast SSD machine with wireless connectivity. The 2014 Mac Mini shipped a M.2 blade option for storage.
